Explore Likupang: Nature, Culture, and Culinary Tourism

Located in North Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi, Likupang has been identified as a super priority destination in Indonesia. Not only surrounded by exotic natural attractions, Likupang also has a wide variety of delicious dining options and exciting cultures to explore.

The amount of hidden gems is a tourist attraction in Likupang which is too bad to miss. With so much natural beauty and tremendous potential, you can't just visit Likupang once. I really want to come back and continue to explore Likupang's beauty one at a time.

Nature Tourism in Likupang

Likupang has a lot of hidden natural attractions that are really nice. The vast majority of Likupang's beaches, lakes and hills offer exotic views.

One of Likupang's main natural attractions to explore is Palm Beach. Less than 2 hours drive from Manado City, you will be greeted by white sand beaches, clear turquoise sea water, and exotic views that will make you fall in love at first sight.

Along with the beach, Bukit Laureate is a natural tourist destination of Likupang which is interesting to visit. The attraction of this natural tourist attraction is that it has vast meadows that seem to "merge" with views of the clear blue sea, as well as beautiful and calming green hills.

Then take the time to visit Bahoi Village as well. Within this destination there is a mangrove forest inhabited by a variety of flora and fauna, diving and snorkeling spots, and staying with the indigenous villagers.

There are still a lot of natural tourism destinations in Likupang that are no less interesting to visit. Such as Surabaya Beach, Pulisan Beach, Pulisan Hill, and Lihaga Island.

Cultural Arts in Likupang

As you explore the beaches and hills, be sure to discover the typical culture of Likupang. One of Likupang's signature cultural arts is the music of Kolintang. Minahasa traditional music instruments that have been taught from the age of primary school. Typically, Kolintang's pieces of music are used as accompaniment to traditional ceremonies, dance performances, or simply as musical performances.

Parekraf's friends may also appreciate the performance of Tumatenden Dance which has an interesting history. Frequently presented in cultural festivals or performing arts, Tumatenden Dance tells the love story of a farmer with an angel.

What's more, Likupang still retains many traditions and cultures. Starting from the Masamper, the Ampa Wayer Dance, and the Foso Rummages ritual as a form of gratitude to God for the harvest obtained.

Come on, Culinary Tour in Likupang

After visiting Likupang's cultural arts, don't forget to try some delicious culinary specialties. The typical Likupang food that is a staple is the tinting porridge. Processed porridge contains many vegetables, such as kale, spinach, basil, corn, pumpkin, and of course skipjack tuna.

The following dish is just as delicious, lalampa. Likupang's typical food is made from sticky rice stuffed with skipjack tuna and wrapped in banana leaves. After cooking, the lalampa will be burned to give off a scented aroma and a more appetizing taste.

As a spicy lover, you should also try the listed tuna fufu, which is done with a four-hour smoking process. Cakalang fufu tastes great, especially when consumed directly with hot rice and dabu-dabu chili.
