Animation Schools in Indonesia Produce Excellent Human Resources

0

The Film, Animation, and Video (FAV) sub sector is a vital part of the rapidly growing creative economy, as evidenced by its increasing participation in international projects and the success of 3D animations in the global market. Educational institutions play a crucial role in producing highly skilled individuals for the success of the tourism and creative economy sectors.

The role of educational institutions does not necessarily come from formal academic institutions, such as university majors. Instead, it also comes from schools that focus on developing interests and talents, especially film and animation specialty schools. In Indonesia, many film and animation schools have produced highly skilled professionals who have excelled in the creative economy and succeeded internationally.

If you want to work in the film, animation, and video (FAV) sub sector, here are some specialized film and animation schools in Indonesia:

HelloMotion Academy

HelloMotion Academy is a non-formal school where you can deepen your knowledge of animation. It offers 2D and 3D animation classes, illustration, and motion graphics. The academy was founded in 2004 and has produced over 30,000 successful creative alums.

The mentors of HelloMotion Academy are also thriving and experienced people in the creative industry. One of them is Ade Putra Lestari, who has experience working with Indonesian musicians such as Raisa, D'Masiv, and Pusakata.

Animation Class

If you don't have time to take offline animation classes, you can join KelasAnimasi. All courses in this animation school are fully online, so you can learn all the material through videos given at home. Interestingly, ClassAnimation has lesson levels that can be selected as needed, whether for beginner, intermediate, or advanced levels. All the knowledge gained during learning is also helpful in various work sectors.

DOES University

Another film and animation school is DOES University, which the vocalist and bassist of the music group Endank Soekamti initiated. This free non-formal school, located in Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta, initially only focused on animation training. However, over time, DOES University has grown to have eight generations and five majors, such as 3D Animation, 3D Modeling, Software Development, UI/UX Design, and Cinematography.

International Design School

Next is the International Design School (IDS), an educational institution in graphic design, animation, and film. This school offers Diploma 1 (D1) programs and short courses focusing on digital design, digital animation, digital film, user experience (UX), and digital marketing.

As an international school, IDS is known for producing many graduates who go on to work internationally. One of them is Catharina Ellen Dian, who worked on the animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

Enspire School of Digital Art (ESDA)

Established in 2013, Enspire School of Digital Art (ESDA) is also one of the most popular animation schools in Indonesia. Founded by visual effects designer Andre Surya, a creative economic actor involved in filming Iron Man, Transformer, and Star Wars, ESDA is an educational institution focusing on 3D animation education.

The classes offered at Enspire School of Digital Art are varied. They range from 3D animation to game design to visual effects. Many of its alums have made careers in various studios at home and abroad.

Hopefully, Indonesia's many specialized film and animation schools will continue producing excellent new generations and encourage the FAV sub sector to grow.
