1

To support the implementation of the G20 in October, several areas in Indonesia are ready to host side events. Hosting the G20 side event is a step towards highlighting a positive image and fostering the diversity of culture and tourism that Indonesia has.

In other words, holding a G20 side event in different areas can simultaneously expand Indonesia. Implementing the side event should be a "Recover Together" moment in the improvement of the local community's economy in the region. It goes in the direction of the G20 theme, Recover Together, Recover Stronger.

Several regions of Indonesia have been designated as the venue for the G-20 side event. Here are the details:

Bali

The first venue for the G-20 side event is on the Isle of Gods, Bali. There are two G20 side events taking place in Bali. First, the Asian Venture Philanthropy Network (AVPN) Conference (21-24 June 2022) with the theme Unlocking Social Investment Opportunities in Indonesia and Beyond Proposed Engagement for 2022: The Asian Decade.

Next up is the 2022 World Conference On Creative Economy (WCCE). Taking place October 1-7, 2022. The World Conference On Creative Economy in Bali has the theme Inclusively Creative: A Global Recovery Which aims at strengthening the challenges of the creative economy to restore the global economy.

Labuan Bajo

The upcoming G20 2022 side event will take place in Labuan Bajo. One of the venues for the G-20 side event in Labuan Bajo is the Creative Hub Puncak Waringin, West Manggarai Regency.

Puncak Waringin became a symbol of the center of collaboration and information exchange for actors in the creative economy as well as the creation of a multiplier effect to build a creative ecosystem. It is hoped that Puncak Waringin will become a cutting-edge industry, enhance the economy and create employment opportunities.

Furthermore, Labuan Bajo will organise a festival as part of a series of G20 side events. A few of them are Flores the Singing Island, Flores Writers Festival, and the #RinduLabuanBajo Ideathon.

Interestingly, Labuan Bajo offers a not substantial G20 side event in the form of tourism packages. Later, each excursion package is equipped with various interesting activities, such as sailing, snorkeling, seeing the Komodo dragons, swimming, visiting the touristic villages and beaches.

Jakarta

In addition to Bali and Labuan Bajo, Jakarta was also designated as the location of the G20 Core Side Event for the Finance Group.

Some of the G20 side events that will take place in Jakarta include the National Fintech Week (PKN) in April 2022, Indonesian Creative Works (KKI) in May 2022 and the International Sharia Economic Festival (ISEF) which is planned for November 2022.

Solo

The solo was also chosen to be one of the locations for the G20 side event. The G20 sideline in Solo is the International Wellness Tourism Conference Festival (IWTCF) with the theme Recover and Stronger with Wellness.

The aim of the International Wellness Tourism Conference Festival (IWTCF) at the G20 side event is to foster cooperation and collaboration in the restoration of sustainable tourism and health. With this in mind, you create a quality journey and adopt a healthy lifestyle.

In addition to Bali, Labuan Bajo, Jakarta & Solo. There are still a number of other regions in Indonesia that have been identified as the venue for the 2022 G20 side event. Some of these areas include Lake Toba, Borobudur (Magelang) area, Mandalika, Likupang, Bintan, Batu, Surabaya, Bogor, Makassar, Palembang, Belitung, Banjarmasin, Sorong, and Pontianak.
